Please tell me how this works? Written test and Drivers license?

I am 17 1/2. will be turning 18 in October. I'm going to take my written test next week. Let's say I ';pass it'; and recieve my provisional permit. Does that mean when I turn 18 I can just take the driving test and get my license? OR when I turn 18 will I have to take the written test over again?

Basic requirements of California's Provisional License for Teenagers.





If a teenager is at least 17 1/2 he or she may obtain a permit without driver education or driver training.





Pass a traffic laws and road signs test.





Then get your license.
