How can cardiovascular exercise help you burn fat? Be specific in discussing how your body works to do this.?

I'm having a really hard time with this question for my Health class because though I read the lesson text over and over and over, it did not mention anything like this. Could anyone tell me a helpful site where I can find this information? I'm not looking for easy answers, just for someone to point me in the right direction. How can cardiovascular exercise help you burn fat? Be specific in discussing how your body works to do this.?
When you do aerobic exercise your body burns carbohydrates (sugars) for energy. Your body only stores about 18 minutes worth of carbohydrate energy at a time (of course it is slightly different for everyone).

Once the carbohydrate energy has been expended, your body turns to the next readily available energy source.

Though your body has the ability to turn protein into energy, it is easier to covert fats. Plus, your body naturally protects it's most valuable resource, and that is the protein you are essentially made of.

So basically, after 18 minutes or so you are no longer burning carbohydrates, you are burning fat.

BTW-the conversion works the same the other way. You eat too many carbs for your body to store (remember the 18 minute rule?) and your body converts that to fat, which it can store easily. How can cardiovascular exercise help you burn fat? Be specific in discussing how your body works to do this.?
Cardio uses energy and your body utilizes a mixture of carbs %26amp; fat to provide this energy.

To burn fat you need to 1) Drink lots of water, 2) Do lots of cardio, 3) Lower your stress level 4) Build up your muscles to speed up your metabolism 5) Eat the right foods.
