Can someone please explain how this equation works and how i would use it thank you it is greatly appreciated?

蟽^2 = 鈭?[ (x - 碌)2 * P(x)]

i know that sigma means population and the e means sum of all and the mew means mean and the x means the number just what does the P mean and how I would use itCan someone please explain how this equation works and how i would use it thank you it is greatly appreciated?
P(x) is the probability of x occurring.. For instance, if you have 2 die and you examine all the distinct possible combinations, then the total 2 occurs once and P(x) = 1/36, the total 3 occurs twice and P(x) = 1/18, 4 occurs 3 times and P(x) = 1/12, etc. Also, the little sigma is not the population in statistics, it's the standard deviation. Plus I am pretty sure you mean (x - 碌)^2 and not (x - 碌)2. (And that ';e'; is a capital sigma, and the ';碌'; is normally spelled ';mu.';)
