If this stimulus package works the way its supposed to, when can we expect for jobs to open up?

I will graduate college in May and although I don't expect for the floodgates of jobs to open up by then, can I at least possibly look at gainful employment within a year if this stimulus package works the way its supposed to? If at all possibe, I'd really like a job within my local city government but they're laying people off because of the lack of money.If this stimulus package works the way its supposed to, when can we expect for jobs to open up?
Unemployment will rise to 9% over the next two and a half years with the stimulus.


It will then start to get better.


Without the stimulus look for 18 to 20% employment in three years.





It is not going to be pretty.

The biggest problem with the ';So-Called'; Jobs that the Spending Package is creating is the jobs are mostly Manual Labor...you know the same jobs that the Illegals were taking a few years ago because Americans did not want to do them...there is some major high way construction going on in my town and the majority of the people working on roads and bridges are Hispanic...this is South Western Georgia and Southeastern Alabama...so they are not from here...what makes people think that if Queen Nancy, Queen Harry, and Queen Barry makes these projects available, they will get a job? That is the major reason I think Barack's Sheep are not very smart...they have no idea that according to Government Regulation these contract have to be put out on bid and the Government takes the one that can do the most for the least amount of money...and who do these Contractors hire, not Americans who they would have to pay more money, but Illegals, this is so their profit is bigger...don't believe me...the Government is building museum here on my Military Base...guess what ICE raided the project a few months ago and arrest 40 Illegals...keep waiting on these ';jobs';...
actually most of the so called stimulus ie.job creation does not even go into effect until 2010 and 2011. the only thing this stimulus bill is SUPPOSED to do is enlarge governmental control over the private sector. If you doubt what I am saying look into it for yourself . Goodluck with your job search I hope you find gainful employment but I also hope you are not counting on the government their first priority is to increase their own power and wealth not get you a job
The economy will turn on its own before this massive government spending bill does anything, then the economy will take and you will see inflation like we saw in the early 80's due to carters idiocy. You will do well if all you want in life is to work for the state. You can be as incompetent as you like and still have a job.
Most economists say that IF it does work, it will take a minimum of two years for us to see it. Only a small portion of the stimulus ackage which actually does create jobs (less than 50%) doesn't even start trickling down untill 2 years from now. And the jbos will be temporary to try to boost the economy but then once the building projects are gone the unemployment will be right back where it is now.
this recession is nothing but a creation of the govt. Bankers and lawyers working hand in hand with Government to rip off the U.S. public for their own greedy purpose. initially the govt is interested in one thing. Socialistic goals to monopolize all of the public utilities or state driven support for the public. The package will be distributed to rich leaders as payment for following their lead. just as there is a euro the world govt will make American money part of the amero. getting rid of our status as the u.s. we will then be the americas. part of Canada and south america. a cheap labor system. The US way of living will be so far down that our way of life will equal that of south america. Providing services to the rich. no more middle class. research it. The stimulus package needs a new name. how about the ransom package.
How it's supposed to work or how Obama says it will work?





It's supposed to funnel money into special interest groups and pet projects of Democrats, if we see a lot of money wasted and pork spending.. then it's working as it was supposed to work.





This thing will NOT create jobs, it was never really intended to.
It will take years that is if it works at all. It may be a complete flop. Putting millions into golf courses, ATV trails and Hollywood filmmakers is not going to help anyone but a handful of people. Steven Spielberg, the millionaire says thanks for the money.
The ';stimulus'; is meant to stimulate government growth not the economy, its a stepping stone to socialism. Obama and the Dems are socialist/marxists, your freedom is at stake!
If this package works the way Pelosy, Reid, and Obama intend, we will all have jobs.


We will all be working for the Government - as volunteers.
It depends on the projects that are funded through the stimulus. Many of them have a short fuse and the money has to be spent quickly, so you're timing might be just right

The last stimulus package didn't work, why do you think this one will?





O yea, Barack signed it not Bush. that should make all the difference.
Temporarily, until all the money runs out. Then Obama will have to reach into our pockets for another Trillion Dollars, to hire people to plant seeds and build golf carts.
It isn't going to create jobs. It is just paying off Obama supporters and getting all the special interest projects pushed through Congress that were turned down before.
I think the first thing that will happen is that layoffs will slow down, then jobs will slowly start to appear.





You might want to consider doing a National Service gig while the economy recovers. You're at the best time of your life for doing this, and you'll likely not be in a position to do it once your career takes off.





This would put something solid on your resume, which would position you well in a year or two when people are really hiring.
