I punctured the bottom shelf of the freezer inside a mini-fridge. Will this effect how it works?

I want to know it this small hole will effect how the freezer/fridge works. Does that shelf have freeon going to if from underneith to keep it cooler than that of the rest of the fridge?I punctured the bottom shelf of the freezer inside a mini-fridge. Will this effect how it works?
It depends on how the fridge is made and where the hole is. A lot of the fridges have little tubes molded into the bottom of the freezer shelf, which is where the freon is. If you've punctured one of those, then it is ruined. However, if not, then the fridge may still be usable.I punctured the bottom shelf of the freezer inside a mini-fridge. On non self defrosting units the evaporator is built in to the bottom freezer shelf. If you hit a coolant channel, then repairs will need to be made. (I have had some luck at this type repair using a heat stick. It looks a little like a large crayon. You can purchase this from most HVAC supply houses.)


There's no such thing as freon poisoning. The only way freon can harm you is if there's enough gas to displace all of the oxygen. Then you would suffocate. (Or if it causes frostbite during it's release.)
You will soon find out. If the fridge stops cooling, you will have to chuck it and buy a new one and if it keeps cooling ........

I did the same thing and yes it ruined it. The freon could be leaking from there. Mine eventually wouldn't stay cold, plus you can get freon poisoning (not sure). I let mine go for a little bit and so I could try and fix it. It hard time staying cold. I had to replace. Just look for a new cheap one craigslist.
