I have a HP patop dv9000 that has a bad motherboard. Everything else on this computer works and we'd like to?

salvage the unit. The problem is HP wants $500 for another motherboard and we don want to spend that money on a problematic (we've had 3 so far) motherboard system. Is it possible to buy another type of motherboard to use in this unit? It would be great to havesome unbiased tech advice! Thanks in advance!I have a HP patop dv9000 that has a bad motherboard. Laptop motherboards are usually unique to that model or range. You could do this with a desktop - but laptops are all different shapes and sizes and connectors inside.I have a HP patop dv9000 that has a bad motherboard. Everything else on this computer works and we'd like to?
Changing a laptop mother board is a very complicated process and will take roughly 3 -5 hours and if yo never have done it before it is nearly impossible
The case and motherboard are designed for each other. There really isn't much you could salvage,
